Week of Russian education in Russian Cultural Center in Damascus, Syria.

An educational exhibition “Week of Russian education”, organized by RACUS organization in cooperation with Russian Cultural Center in Damascus, took place in Russian Cultural Center in Damascus during the period from the 26th of June till the 1st of July. School-leavers, graduates and pupils of the last classes formed the principle audience. All interested could get consultations on the questions of higher education and possibilities of post-graduate study in Russian state universities. A lot of colorful booklets giving the complete information about universities of Moscow, Saint-Petersburg, Novgorod the Great, Tambov, Saratov, Nizhny Novgorod, Makhachkala, proposing study at more than 500 specialities were distributed among the guests of the exhibition. In the booklets distributed among the visitors there were explained the conditions of admission, the list of documents required for admission in a university, the conditions of accommodation in students' hostels – everything that a foreign student coming to Russia for study should know.
Russian higher education is in popular demand in Syria due to a high quality of educational programs. The exhibition showed once again a great interest of Syrian young people in study in Russia at medical and engineering specialities. Owing to the development of modern technologies in Syria, interest of candidates in the specialities in the field of telecommunications, computer technologies, biotechnologies, medical equipment engineering, business administration, piloting of aircrafts and air traffic control is recently increasing. Basing on ancient traditions, Russian universities meet requirements of labour market and demands of contemporary economy, using high technologies and the most efficient methods of teaching.
